Dr. Tobias Schmid is a Research Group Leader at the Institute of Biochemistry I (Pathobiochemistry), in the Faculty of Medicine, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt, Germany. Previously he worked in the Laboratory of Cancer Prevention at the National Cancer Institute in Frederick, USA. Prior to that he was investigating regulation of cellular signaling mechanisms in hypoxia in the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He has also been involved in research at the University of Konstanz, Germany. Dr. Schmid has published a number of papers on different aspects of cell signaling, such as deregulation of signal transduction pathways in tumorigenesis and hypoxia.
