Dr Zubair Kabir (MD, PhD) is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Epidemiology & Public Health at the University College Cork, Ireland. Previous to that Dr Kabir was a Visiting Scientist at Harvard School of Public Health in the US. He completed his PhD in Respiratory Medicine and Tobacco Control Research at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, where he worked as a Senior Researcher and an Epidemiologist at the Tobacco-Free Research Institute Ireland.
Dr Kabir has published over 70 papers on tobacco use epidemiology and related subject areas. He has a special interest in tobacco control among vulnerable populations and health inequality. He currently leads an online 5-credit Tobacco Control module at the University College Cork as a part of both Masters in Public Health (MPH) and PG Cert in Health Protection programs. He is a member of a number of professional organizations including the Society of Research on Nicotine and Tobacco.
The Role of the Editor in Chief
The editor in chief is responsible for editorial decision-making on papers submitted to the journal. The editor in chief is also responsible for editorial matters that include but are not limited to journal supplements, the journal's aims and scope, the editorial board and volunteer peer reviewer pool, editorial assessment of video abstracts, assignment to published papers of endorsements, and for consulting on pre-submission inquiries from authors.
Publishing in the journal Cell & Tissue Transplantation & Therapy was smooth and quick. The entire staff kept us informed each step of the way and quickly responded to all questions. I was surprised how well organized they are. Would recommend this journal to all my colleagues.
