My experience with Libertas Academica was excellent. The review process was smooth and speedy. After publishing, I received a kind and favorable response from a reader. I have never experienced such a comment after my publications to orthodox journals.

What is the primary focus of your research?

My primary focus is clinical endocrinology and diabetes mellitus, especially in relation to its macrovascular complications.

What are the most exciting developments arising from current research in your area?

I think that the effectiveness of incretin analog and/or enhancer in Japanese type 2 diabetes is one of the exciting topics.

Who are your main collaborators?

Emeritus Professor Yutaka Seino.

How did you come to be working in your research area?

After I entered Professor Imura's Lab at the Postgraduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University.

What do you think about the development of open access publishing? What motivated you to use it?

I think that it will enable us to collaborate with other researchers. In this era, I think that the sharing of data and concepts should be more open.
