Formerly from the University of Oxford, Karen Pulford, PhD., FRCPath. is now an Emeritus Reader in Immunodiagnostics.
A major focus of her work was in the field of monoclonal antibody production and use, specifically in the field of haematological malignancies. A major continuing interest concerns the immune response of cancer patients to their tumour antigens. This includes the development of a lymphoma vaccine.
Dr Pulford is a member of many research and clinical organisations. She remains actively involved in a number of international research collaborations and continues to publish research papers. Her honorary membership of the Nuffield Division of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at the University provides her with the opportunities to keep up to date with research trends.
Dr Pulford’s invaluable combination of careers provides her with the essential knowledge and expertise to report authoritatively and accurately over an extensive variety of medical topics.
The Role of the Editor in Chief
The editor in chief is responsible for editorial decision-making on papers submitted to the journal. The editor in chief is also responsible for editorial matters that include but are not limited to journal supplements, the journal's aims and scope, the editorial board and volunteer peer reviewer pool, editorial assessment of video abstracts, assignment to published papers of endorsements, and for consulting on pre-submission inquiries from authors.
