David Simar

Dr David Simar is a Lecturer at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He teaches Clinical Physiology in the School of Medical Sciences and Faculty of Medicine. Previously he researched and lectured in Exercise Physiology at the University of Sydney. He has also been an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Montpellier in France, where he was awarded his PhD in Physiology.

Dr Simar has published many times on various aspects of movement and metabolism in the elderly. He has also contributed to chapters of the book ‘Physical Fitness, Health and Aging” (2004). He is interested in both normal and pathological aging, and how daily life conditions of elderly people can be improved. He also works as an advisory member of the Lifestyle Clinic in Sydney to develop new strategies to improve the health of elderly people using physical activity.
