Editor in Chief

Yasuo Ito

Dr Yasuo Ito is an Emeritus Professor of Pediatric Surgery at the Kyorin University School of Medicine.  In 1968 Dr Ito graduated from the Keio University School of Medicine and in 1979 he completed his PhD. He became a board certified instructor of pediatric surgery in 1987 and board certified instructor of surgery in 1997. Dr Ito served as the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons and also as an editor of  Surgery Today.

The Role of the Editor in Chief

The editor in chief is responsible for editorial decision-making on papers submitted to the journal.  The editor in chief is also responsible for editorial matters that include but are not limited to journal supplements, the journal's aims and scope, the editorial board and volunteer peer reviewer pool, editorial assessment of video abstracts, assignment to published papers of endorsements, and for consulting on pre-submission inquiries from authors.
