Dr Paul J Higgins is the Director at the Center for Cell Biology & Cancer Research at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, USA. He received his PhD in Molecular Biology from New York University. After completing a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, also in New York, he was appointed to Assistant Professor in the Cell Biology/Genetics and Molecular Biology/Virology Programs.
His current research is focused on molecular mechanisms underlying tissue response to injury and tumor progression with emphasis on expression controls on critical inflammation and fibrosis-promoting factors.
Dr Higgins has over 20 years’ experience as a full professor, and has published over 250 peer reviewed articles. He is a member of four societies (Wound Healing Society, American Heart Association, American Society for Cell Biology, and American Association for Cancer Research), serves on several NIH and International review panels, and has a joint appointment at the SUNYA Center for Cancer Genomics.
My laboratory has published several papers in Cell Communication Insights.
