Search Engine Optimization is a vital component of Libertas' on-going work to make authors' articles as visible as possible, combined with other efforts such as getting journals into as many external indexes as possible.
Why is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) so important? Because over half of all website traffic is received through Google and other search engines. Search engines are an increasingly important weapon in readers' researcher arsenals because, in contrast to some popular external indexes, Google is updated immediately with the most recent articles. This means that search engines like Google will increasingly become the tool of choice for researchers seeking the latest research in their area.
There's no magic solution to SEO: it requires on-going monitoring, research and development. As Google and other search engines develop their capabilities yesterday's solutions are no longer effective.
What is Libertas doing? We employ three separate SEO consultants. This ensures that our SEO capabilities are constantly being kept up to date and being refined by experts. We use the same analytical tools that Google uses to analyse our website and identify refinements. Many improvements were made when our new website was launched in early August and we have continued to make further improvements since then to ensure that our SEO is up to date. We will continue to make refinements to ensure that articles we publish are as visible as possible.
