John P. Pestian, PhD, MBA is a professor of pediatrics, psychiatry, and biomedical informatics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati. The mission of the Pestian Lab is to develop advanced technology for the care of neuropsychiatric illness. The lab does this by teaching computers to understand the neuropsychiatric all dimensions of the illness by integrating genetics, language, voice and facial features by developing advance multi-modal analytical tools. For the near term the lab will continue to focus on for identifying epilepsy surgery candidates, depression, anxiety and suicide.
The Role of the Editor in Chief
The editor in chief is responsible for editorial decision-making on papers submitted to the journal. The editor in chief is also responsible for editorial matters that include but are not limited to journal supplements, the journal's aims and scope, the editorial board and volunteer peer reviewer pool, editorial assessment of video abstracts, assignment to published papers of endorsements, and for consulting on pre-submission inquiries from authors.
The publication process was efficient and well-organized. I am pleased with my decision to submit my manuscript to Biomedical Informatics Insights and highly recommend others to submit their work to the journal.
