Dr Darren R Flower is a Reader in the School of Life and Health Sciences, Aston University. Previously, Dr Flower was an independent Jenner Research Fellow working at the Jenner Institute, part of the University of Oxford; a Senior Group Leader at the Edward Jenner Institute for Vaccine Research; and a Drug Discovery Scientist at Astra Charnwood, now part of AstraZeneca.
He is Chairman of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Molecular Modelling Group and a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry. He is also a member of the International Immunomics Society and a special adviser to the UK Stroke Research Network. Dr Flower has published over 140 papers and 6 books, including the monograph: Bioinformatics for Vaccinology.
He sits on 11 Editorial Boards, including the Biochemical Journal and Immunomics Research, and is widely consulted as a reviewer. He has extensive experience of organizing national and international meetings and conferences. Dr Flower has wide scientific interests with a special focus on immunology and vaccine discovery.
