Dr. Dama Laxminarayana is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Rheumatology and Immunology, Department of Medicine, Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Winston Salem, North Carolina, USA. He was educated at Osmania University, India, and did post-doctoral training at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and Bowman Gray School of Medicine, USA.
He is an author or co-author of over 30 peer reviewed articles, book Chapters and refereed conference publication and presentations. He has more than decade experience in the fields of Chemical mutagenesis and drug toxicology. He also has more than 15 years research experience in molecular immunology and epigenetics applied to autoimmune diseases.
Dr. Laxminarayana has received numerous honors and awards for his work throughout his career. His research has been supported by the National Institutes of Health and served on several research review committees. He discovered transcript editing implicated in Lupus pathogenesis. Such phenomenon has been identified later by other investigators in pathological conditions such as neurological diseases, Alzheimer’s, Cancer, Down syndrome and aging.
The Role of the Editor in Chief
The editor in chief is responsible for editorial decision-making on papers submitted to the journal. The editor in chief is also responsible for editorial matters that include but are not limited to journal supplements, the journal's aims and scope, the editorial board and volunteer peer reviewer pool, editorial assessment of video abstracts, assignment to published papers of endorsements, and for consulting on pre-submission inquiries from authors.
