Editor in Chief: Marc D Basson
Dr Marc Basson (MD, PhD, MBA) is Professor and Chair of the Department of Surgery, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, USA. He has a strong background in both basic and clinical cell research. Prior to these appointments Dr Basson was Assistant Professor, then Associate Professor, at Yale University, where he received his MPhil and PhD in Experimental Pathology. He has also had experience working as an Attending Surgeon at Yale New Haven Hospital (including 5 years in the Division of Surgical Oncology), John D. Dingell VA Medical Centre and West Haven VA. At the latter he was also Chief of Surgical Endoscopy and Director of the Colorectal Clinics during his time there.
Dr Basson has published over 190 articles and contributed to 10 edited books, as well as editing 3 books himself. He is currently working on several funded projects, including the effect of pressure on colon cancer cell adhesion. He also has many responsibilities in peer reviewing, consulting, committees, and professional organizations in surgery and oncology.
