Editor in Chief: Kayvan Najarian

Dr Kayvan Najarian is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he works on biomedical signal and image processing and biomedical informatics. Previously he was Assistant Professor at UNC Charlotte. Before that, Dr Najarian was President and CTO at Analytica Inc. He has also been a Datamining Scientist at Knowledge Junction Systems Inc. and a lecturer at the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of British Columbia.

Dr Najarian has an MSc in Biomedical Engineering and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, completed with an award-winning thesis. He has taught extensively since 1999 at both the undergraduate and graduate level at UNC Charlotte and Virginia Commonwealth University, including the creation of new courses, developing the curriculum, and assisting other staff.

Dr Najarian has been published 6 times in the Wiley Encyclopedia of Biomedical Engineering. He co-authored ‘Biomedical Signal and Image Processing’ and is currently working on a second book. He has published over 100 journal articles and conference papers. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, is a reviewer, referee or member of dozens more committees, journals and councils.
