About this journal

Gastrointestinal Cancer Insights

Aims and scope:

Gastrointestinal Cancer Insights is an open access, peer reviewed journal which covers all aspects of research and treatment of gastrointestinal cancer. Detection, diagnosis, prevention, cause, prognosis, pathophysiology, all types of treatment, and more are topics of interest. Anal, colorectal, esophageal, gallbladder, liver, pancreatic, and stomach cancers, and gastrointestinal stromal tumours, are of interest. Related topics on gastrointestinal cancer are also welcome.

The journal  publishes papers reporting original clinical and scientific research, which are of a high standard and which contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of gastrointestinal malignancies.

The field comprises prevention, diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal malignancies, as well as related molecular genetics, pathophysiology, and epidemiology. The journal also publishes reviews, editorials and short communications on those specific topics. Case reports will be accepted if of great interest and well investigated. Their number will decrease progressively. Technical Reports and Clinical Imaging chapters should include new or improved techniques and devices used in clinical research or in the practice of GI oncology. Letters to the Editor, especially those mentioning an opinion on an article previously published, or expressing a new finding are welcome. Not all letters submited can be published. Notes will also be accepted if on topics of professional interest.

Editorial standards and procedures:

All submissions to this journal, with the exception of editorials and dedications (obituaries), are subject to rigorous peer review by a minimum of two peer reviewers who demonstrate current research experience in the paper's subject area.  Reviewers are required to provide in-depth, fair and objective reviews.  They may not act as reviewers if they are in a conflict of interest.  All final publishing decisions are made by the Editor in Chief or Associate Editor.
