5 Tips for a Successful Peer Review Report

Posted Tue, Apr, 08,2014

If you are considering submitting your manuscript to an open access journal we have 5 tips to help increase the prospects of receiving a successful peer review report.

We recently questioned our peer reviewers and asked them to share with us their recommendations. Here's what they told us:

1. Ensure reasoning and methodology is sound and consider having an assessment done by a colleague before submitting your manuscript

2. Ensure compliance with all applicable ethical requirements and consider using a plagiarism scanning tool to avoid unintended re-use of copyrighted material

3. If English is not your first language consider having the manuscript edited by a native speaker

4. Make sure the manuscript complies with the journal's formatting requirements

5. Make sure that files are uncorrupted and can be opened
