Thomas E. Vanhecke

Thomas E. Vanhecke, MD is Consultant Cardiologist and Director of Noninvasive Imaging at Genesys Regional Medical Center/Ascension Healthcare, Grand Blanc, Michigan, USA.

Dr. Vanhecke is a Consultant Cardiologist and the Director of Noninvasive Imaging at Genesys Regional Medical Center/Ascension Healthcare. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular computed tomography, adult echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Vanhecke received his medical degree at the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University. He went on to complete his residency in internal medicine and cardiology fellowship at the William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI.

At Genesys Regional Medical Center, Dr. Vanhecke leads an active research team that focuses on disease prevention and determinants of cardiovascular disease, such as obesity, the metabolic syndrome, novel biomarkers, and congestive heart failure. He has published over 60 medical communications, including over 25 peer-reviewed original articles and reviews and several book chapters and other sources of online medical references.

The Role of the Editor in Chief

The editor in chief is responsible for editorial decision-making on papers submitted to the journal.  The editor in chief is also responsible for editorial matters that include but are not limited to journal supplements, the journal's aims and scope, the editorial board and volunteer peer reviewer pool, editorial assessment of video abstracts, assignment to published papers of endorsements, and for consulting on pre-submission inquiries from authors.
